DJ Blow My Speakers Up

Photobucket

More quote unquote Christmas shopping today. Watched Avatar which I thought was a movie which got so cheesy in the end. The outfit was originally worn with heels but my dad forced me into wearing just rubbershoes. The shirt on the other hand is a shirt I designed for our art project in 2nd year. I never thought that I would actually wear it out but thanks to fashion, I was able to find new ways to wear it.

What I wore: Shirt designed by me, Jeans from Mango, Shoes from Converse, Bag from Trove Bags.

By the way, the shirt is supposed to say "WANNA BE ON TOP?" with a girl on top of Mt. Everest and captioned with AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. (Yes, its supposed to be funny

What I wore: Shirt from Piandre, Thrifted blue padded cardigan, Shorts from mom, Shoes from CMG, Bag from Espirit.

Today we braved the streets of Quiapo to buy my sister's camera. Ofcourse, I didnt wear my heels there. I was warned by my dad and he told me to wear rubbershoes instead. Thank goodness for him though, because if he hadnt warned me, I would have suffered greatly.

One thing that I loved most about Quiapo: THRIFT STORES --and a lot of them. Unfortunately, dad was in a rush so we werent able to go through most of the stores. We werent exactly given all the time in the world to look around BUT in the short time that we were given, I was able to find this really great find! An Alternative Earth shirt for only 35 pesos! When I saw it I immediately bought it. Alternative Earth shirts are known to be popularly worn by Hollywood celebrities and retail in Rustans for 995 each so ofcourse upon seeing it, I just knew I had to have it.

After Quiapo, we had lunch at Savory (a restaurant you will find outside China Town) and headed for MOA afterwards. We decided not to go to Trinoma anymore since it was too far away plus the traffic was horrible. My parents didnt even know why they wanted to go there in the first place. At MOA we did more Christmas shopping and I already got my gift! I didnt get the Zara dress anymore but I got something better instead. To know what it is, tune in on my next post :)

I used the term "supposed Christmas shopping" because we BARELY did any. My parents tired me for nothing. We went from Greenbelt, to Landmark, to Glorietta without purchasing a THING. Well okay, I was able to buy a Christmas dress but that was it and I wasnt even able to get my Christmas OR Birthday gift yet. I wanted this dress from Zara but my parents BOTH agreed that it was too revealing. Since when was I restricted to buying certain clothes? The world is truly changing. There was also this reaallyy PRETTY, flattering, and not to mention CHEAP dress over at The Ramp but my mom said I looked slutty in it. When did my parents even care? It was hella amazing and I thought I looked great in it so why not? Well whatever, tomorrow I am going to pressure my dad into getting me the Zara dress since it REALLY is amazing and I cant get it off my head until now.

Tomorrow we're going to Quiapo, Trinoma, and Eastwood (I know, its as if we're touring the malls one city at a time). On the BUY list for tomorrow is Tammy's camera (and hopefully my Zara dress hihi). Then on Monday, we're doing the shopping for all the relatives in Town. If God permits, we will go by the next few days very smoothly and we will finish everything according to schedule. That's about it for now. Till next time!

New Stores!

I just couldnt contain this new information that I was able to get so I just KNEW that I had to blog it. Payless Shoes, a shoe brand based in the US is opening here in Manila mid 2010. Also, it has been confirmed that Forever21 will also be opening next year though there is no official date yet.

Now heres another article I stumbled on a while ago. It was too interesting to pass so here it is. This is just a repost from Jirita Jackson's blog: http://chuvaness.com

Someone's idea of a "unique" Christmas decoration/art installation is drawing different kinds of reactions from the neighbors.

Its creator says:

"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas
decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after two days. I had
more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two
things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause
traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55
year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it
against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top
(she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do
that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where
people literally drove up my yard."
