Today was a good day. I first headed to AAV to do my share of community service for those who were severely affected by the typhoon. I only intended to go help at Woodrose but they were almost done when I arrived so I decided to help at St. James instead.

Though I was only able to stay until 2, I think that I was still able to do do a fair share of all the work that needed to be done unlike some of those other people who were just obviously there for the wrong intentions, no offence. Thank goodness though that when we arrived at St. James there werent much people yet so we were all really able to contribute something since every person's help counted. It was a major work out for our arms though but hell it was fun!

Afterwards, I headed to my grandma's house because it was our bonding time with her. Us three cousins plus her. It was nice spending time with her again because its seriously been so long! Even though we live right beside each other, my sister and I barely get to visit her so its good that we had today to catch up. We were just there in the TV room and we watched TV while having pizza. I had four slices of yellow cab. I think its because I only had an orange for breakfast and I exhausted all my energy at Alabang. Our granny's birthday is also coming up soo I'm excited for that! I'm thinking SURPRISE!

Anyway thats all. For now, I will leave all of you with some interesting fashion forward pieces.

To Quiapo Or Not We Go!

Photobucket

So today we were going to go to Quiapo to buy some camera equipment for my sister. Once I heard Quiapo, this was the first outfit I thought of. Nothing screams vintage more than this. I thought that this outfit would really send off the vintage old style vibe that Quiapo gives which is why I wore it. Unfortunately, after dressing up, I was told that our trip was cancelled because of the floods. Instead, we just went to Town to do what else but shop.

My sister and I got our rewards and we had lunch at Pepper Lunch afterwards. It was basically one of those days when you have nothing else to do but go to the mall to eat and buy something then leave again. Really lazy day if you ask me.

But anyhoo, guess what I brought home today!!

NEW SHOOEEESS! I am finally able to get a hold of a pair of high-tops. They're amazing. I'm in love :) Now I have new dancing shoes. I cant be any happier. I cant wait to wear them out! I'm soo excited to start dancing in them. My sister on the other hand asked for a koosh ball for her reward. Yeah, she's a cheap thrill like that. Well, we all have our cheap thrill moments anyway just like how I get mine from thrifting.

What I wore: Thrifted padded star printed blue top, DIY'ed shorts, Stockings from Capezio, Shoes from CMG, Vest from Topshop, Bag from Mango.

Pink and Print

Today I finally decided to debut my denim print leggings. Love them! They give absolute comfort and style.

Photobucket

I wore them out to another outing with my family. We first had lunch in Kanin Club. At first we doubted we were going to be able to get seats since we've already been there twice and never got to eat there since it was always waiting list and my dad never wannted to wait. Fortunately, we arrived early enough to be the second on the wait list and so we decided to wait for it since the line wasnt so long.

Kanin Club was always full and so we really expected a lot from it. Though it serves native Filipino dishes, it was a unique restaurant since they managed to experiment with different tastes and come up with new exciting delicacies. Just say for example their CRISPY dinuguan and their turon with ube, beans, and macapuno. They were definitely different from your traditional Filipino food.

I had a vegetarian lumpia (first picture) which I really loved. It didnt even taste like lumpia at all! It had tofu in it and it kind of tasted like Pad thai because of the wansoi. My experience at Kanin Club was great and I would definitely come back for more.

After lunch, we headed to Cash and Carry and eventually, to Rockwell. I ended up splurging again once we got to Rockwell. Now I owe my mom 3k. I am seriously burying myself in debt! Unfortunately, we didnt have the time to go to the Artisan Bazaar (and I am sure I missed on a LOT!!) but I'm sure there will be more to come and so I am hoping that I'll be able to attend the rest instead.

Outfit post for today includes my sister who obviously shares the same love for leggings as me.

The Day I Took The ACET

Photobucket

All in blue for Ateneo. The ACET was such a STRESS especially with all the traffic going there. I had to walk from frickkin KATIPUNAN to the highschool building of Ateneo only to find out that my car would get to the building 5 minutes before they let the people in. (Meaning just a few minutes after I arrived all tired and sweaty).

Photobucket

I obviously do not want to get into Ateneo as much as a lot of other people do. I mean Jesus Christ, I even forgot what my first choice was. (That question alone already felt like a test question to me :). In general, the ACET seemed easier than the UPCAT though I think that I fared the same in both. I guessed a ton of stuff in the ACET. I was actually really positive about it at first but being in the same room as Jicoy, I was forced to feel the opposite. Comparing answers with someone who's number 8 in his batch is a big NO NO. After comparing answers with him my spirit just died.

I'm trying my best to think positive right now. As I've mentioned earlier, Ateneo is not a priority school to me. I think I would much rather still go to Benilde (though we all know the difference of being a Benilde graduate and an Ateneo graduate --I'd be very willing to change this generalization of people though :D). To me, its okay that God wouldnt let me pass Ateneo if he has better plans for me. I really wouldnt mind not getting in Ateneo as long as God still puts me in a college I deserve. (The whole not getting in a college thing is really haunting me right now). Right now I am just putting my trust in God to put me in the college that he thinks is right for me. (And hopefully, there IS actually A college).

So anyway, other stories were that we had lunch in Eastwood before the test. Ate in Uncle Cheffy's where I had delicious Warm Couscous Salad while my family had pizza.

After the very hectic (not to mention HOT!!!) ACET, we went back to the South. We moved from several restaurants until we finally decided to just have sushi at Terriyaki Boy instead. I had the Vegetarian sushi which was sooo FILLING! Its also very cheap at only around 150 pesos. YUMM!

Thrifting At Its Best

If you thought the Balmain-ish blazer I scored for 30 pesos (close to a quarter) was a steal, check this out.

Photobucket

A bag full of thrift finds that I got from today. How much, you ask? a total of 260 pesos (around $5) for TEN pieces of clothing.

Photobucket
Photobucket

I am loving the vests that I was able to buy. Thats 260 pesos for all of that on the table. You can just imagine how much each piece cost.

The whole thrifting thing really excites me. I was so proud I was able to buy all of those for so CHEAP! Not only that, but all thrifted items are unique. Every single piece has its own story and its own statement. Just like this favorite piece of mine:

Photobucket

When I saw this vest, I was just like, OMG. I HAVE TO GET THAT no matter how much it is! And apparently, it was pretty cheap. So I got it. Along with all the other vests. This favorite vest of mine is really interesting. Its very retro and feminine at the same time. I actually examined it when I got home and I kind of got a bit freaked out because of the doll faces on the cloth (they reminded me of Sto. Nino) which made me not like it as much, but it would still have to be my number one favorite from everything I got from today.

So what else happened on this lucky day?

Photobucket

We finally went to Robinsons Manila after how many times of postponing our trip there. Its been so long since I last went there. I used to go there ALL the time because my mom worked in Court of Appeals which was right in front of Robinsons. As you can see, its much bigger now. This picture is actually the new wing wherein one can find all the high end shops such as Marks and Spencer, Aldo, Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, and Mango. Okay, so they're not designer brands, but compared to the old wing which had People are People, Bench, Tomato, YRYS, Penshoppe, and the tiangges, the new wing is obviously so much better.

We chanced upon Rustans and apparently, the Rustans there turned into the Red Tag Rustans. Exactly what is Red Tag Rustans?

Photobucket

Its a branch of Rustan's where all the sale items that never get bought in the other branches go. MEANING up to 70% off all year round with all the designer items you can possibly buy. Casual items such as CROCS and MELISSA shoes are also available on sale. Crocs go down to 729 pesos while the cheapest Melissa I was able to find was down to 1k. Clothes also range from Mavi shorts worth 599, LUNA dresses at 50 off, Heatherette tops for 199 at the cheapest, Sinequanone clothes at 50 off, and a ton of Billabong stuff for 20 off. ALSO, their shoes were on the BIGGEST SALE EVER. LUNA and RRED shoes went down from 3450 pesos to 999 and some even for 799! And no they werent those lame old style shoes. One was actually a design I wanted before but my feet are too wide for them. There were also Steve Madden shoes for 799. Haha. I know. You already wanna go there. Like, now. :P

Well, I guess thats all I can feed this blog for today. The ACET's coming up and I gotta get ready. Wish me goodluck, everyone! CIAO!

The rest of the time was spent for rockband, bonding, games, and watching videos. It was great spending time with everyone once again. Next time will be on the 26th, I really hope I get on my dad's good side so I'd be allowed.

Carlo's new house is beautiful though I will miss his old house very much. So much memories were created by all of us in that house: First drunken party, first kisses, first cigarette, his Sixteenth birthday, and so much more. I guess a new house means new beginnings; new memories to create. I am hoping that this group's friendship (you know who you are) will continue to grow and flourish because these people are the friends I am sure to cherish forever.

What I wore: Top from bazaar, Shoes from Kickers, Shorts from Solo, Hat borrowed from Bia, Denim vest from mom.
